There are two ways to advance a character in Fallen Earth.
The first method is through Experience Points (a.k.a. XP or xp).
Experience points are earned through combat, crafting, exploration
and missions. They are used to gain character level advancement. The
difference between character levels is very small and players of
vastly different levels can still be competitive depending on how
each individual player has spent their Advancement Points.
The second method of advancement is through Advancement Points
(a.k.a. AP) earned through both combat and non-combat means.
Advancement points are more important to character development than
XP in that they are used to advance character skills, mutation
skills, and attributes. These skills and attributes are the
foundation of character development and are used to make the
individual character unique.
In general, creating a character that is combat oriented will allow
faster advancement with inferior crafting ability, while creating a
non-combat oriented character will allow for slower advancement with
superior crafting ability. This does not mean that a combat oriented
character cannot craft or that a crafting oriented character cannot
engage in combat. Characters can be both master crafters and combat
effective at the same time with neither skill set suffering.
The following list of factors serves to define a character and make
it unique.
Attributes
Attributes are the basic abilities of a character. They all begin at
level 11 and increase 1 point per level, in addition to points
gained through APs. More detailed information concerning Attributes
is available on the
Attributes
page.
Active
Skills
Active skills are earned abilities. More detailed information on
Active skills is available on the

Tradeskills

Hit Points

Endurance and Strength.
Stamina

non-mutation abilities. Using weapons drains stamina depending on
the characteristics of the weapon.
Bio-Energy

this is used to power mutation abilities and is based on a
character’s Willpower and Intelligence attributes.
Level

power level.
Resistances
These are a character’s resistances to various forms of damage and
are determined through a variety of factors to include armor,
mutations and special abilities.
