Lightbearers

The first rumors of the Lightbearers and their leader Shakti began to circulate within the Province in 2065. Shakti laid a foundation for the faction’s mission to provide healing to the populous, defend fledgling towns, and teaching. Their moderate and helpful ways draw many to their banner – medical personnel with their knowledge and skills, martial artists with their warrior abilities, and spiritually minded folks that further the Lightbearer philosophy. People dealing with mutations caused by Shiva find guidance and training from this faction since they are more knowledgeable about mutations than anyone.

There are some who say though that the Lightbearers are not all light and moderation. Rumors say there is a branch of deadly assassins within this faction ready to silence all who would oppose their philosophy as well as a branch that believes mutants are superior to unchanged humans. Only the Lightbearers themselves know the truth.

The Enforcers have been allied with this faction since shortly after their current leader, Col. Pryce, warned the Monastery that Alec Masters’ forces were about to attack there. Since that time, Col. Pryce and the two remaining Lightbearer Grandmasters, Kim Jurr and Ryan Yoshi, have worked together in an attempt to restore peace and structure to the world.

The Vistas share a desire similar to the Lightbearers to rebuild a better world without the flaws of the old one that lead to the Fall. They also view each other as valuable trading partners.

The Travelers and the Lightbearers find themselves at odds due to deep philosophical differences. The CHOTA’s chaotic and rebellious ways and the Techs’ selfishness both go against the grain of the Lightbearer’s ideals.

Some Sects of the Lightbearers:

The Sun and Moon - believed to be to an elite unit of highly trained assassins. Their purpose is unknown to outsiders of the Lightbearers, yet they are known to exist.
